Aim - The aim of this module in Health & Safety is to create an awareness in pre-school providers and staff of the importance of a healthy and safe pre-school environment. This will ensure the care environment is kept safe and secure in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of the staff, parents, children and visitors to the centre and to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

Child Safety section on the HSE website: safety

This valuable resource has all of the current Child Safety Awareness Programme (CSAP) materials available for download and also contains lots of information in relation to child safety. It is constantly being developed and updated to reflect emerging issues and current best practice. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with the website so that you can inform parents/carers about it when you are delivering the CSAP at the child health development visits and any other convenient times.
